Chewy Sweets Selection Jar - an old favourite - back by popular demand. A jar crammed with assorted chewy sweets to keep you going for ages (or for a perfect present!). The selection will vary but we make sure it includes as many of the old favouries as we can - including shrimps, milk teeth, sweet bananas (all the Bassetts ones of course!), cola bottles and stacks more to give a kaleidoscope of colours and enough chew to really make your jaw ache! We choose the sweets to make sure that there is a really good selection - and we cram in as many as we can. Officially we say that the sweets weigh approximately 1.6kg - but really they may weigh a fair bit more (depending on the selection)!

Glass Gift Jar of Bulls Eyes - We have had these itsy-bitsy sweets made specially for us! We wanted to have little jars of sweets on the site (each jar holds approx at least 175 grams) and, for it to really work, we had to have little tiny versions of our delicious boiled sweets - so that`s what we did. These are made for us by the same people who make the normal sized sweets so they are absolutely delicious. They give you all of the flavour of the full sized sweets - but you get lots more in the jar!! They used to come in a hexagonal jar, but then we found these fab square ones! Each jar measures 90mm x 68mm x 68mm.

Hand Made Sugar Free Rhubarb and Custard - We don`t think you should miss out on all the fun if you can`t have sugar, so here are some of our most delicious handmade sweets in a sugar-free version - . you can`t say we don`t look after you!These are totally divine, and so beautiful, you won`t be able to keep your eyes (or hands!) off them!

Chunky Chocolate Pumpkins - These are great! Large, oval-shaped scary-looking creamy chocolate pumpkins. To give you an idea of just how chunky these beauties are, they each measure 53mm in length (by 35mm in height), and they are made up of solid delicious chocolate. The quality is superb, and we just love them - perfect for witches and wizards any time of the year, or for anyone at Halloween... (or if you want to create a spooky atmosphere while watching a horror film with friends) ... and how cool would it be to give these out to Trick or Treaters (no chance of you getting any nasty tricks!)

Bulls Eyes - Traditional English sweets from days gone by - with a lovely hint of mint. We love them here! And the best bit? They`re free from artificial colours... hoorah!

Double Lollies - the original long lasting lolly - a real taste of days gone by. I used to love (ok I still do!) scraping my teeth down the edge of the lollies so that the sweet chalky lollyness dissolved in my mouth. . . does that make me odd??? We sell the "giant size" lollies. . . they are probably the size of double lollies that you remember when you were young. . . the "standard" size double lollies these days are titchy and, quite frankly, we`d be embarrassed to sell them!!!

Foamy Teeth and Toothbrushes - Things here at A Quarter Of are getting stranger and stranger... I mean, who would want to eat Foam Teeth and Toothbrushes??? Well let me tell you something - these teeth and brushes from our pals at Swizzels Matlow (the people who make Love Hearts) are actually jolly tasty... ... and they`re a great way of reminding you that you must always brush your teeth after eating sweets! You now have no excuse!

Squirting Skulls - Eeeeeugh! How gross are these? Absolutely perfect to freak your mates out at Halloween, or any other time of the year! Little bags containing rather delicious gum skulls filled with a fruity gooey bloody centre (and no, that wasn`t me swearing!). Perfect to give out to Trick or Treaters... They`re great fun, rather unusual and really rather delicious (if you try and forget the fact that you`re eating a Blood Squirting Skull!)

American Hard Gums - large, chewy, sugar coated fruity gums - guaranteed to stick to your teeth!

Black Jacks - One of the best classic British sweets EVER - we love them! They`re aniseed-flavour chewy black rectangles with a delicious and unique taste, and they make your tongue go black - so not to be munched just before you go out on that hot date! I wonder where the name comes from? Well the answer comes from superstar customer Mike. Are you sitting comfortably? Then we`ll begin.... Black Jacks were called Black Jacks because the original 1920s labels pictured a grinning gollywog - unbelievably, back then images of black people were used to advertise Liquorice. However, by the late 1980s manufacturers Trebor quite rightly scrapped the Black Jacks golly logo as it was racially offensive, replaced the logo with an image of a pirate with a black beard and eye patch and re branded the sweets as Black Jack. And by the early 1990s Trebor disbanded the pirate logo altogether in favour of the current black and white swirl design. Mystery solved... hooray! Thanks Mike.
